CTCSS tones using a transverter Reply
by KC2TKD on October 31, 2008 Mail this to a friend!
How would I add CTCSS and DCS tones to my FTV 901R transverter. I rarely use 2 Meters except mobile but have added this transverter to my FT901DM. Since the majority of repeaters use CTCSS tones I sure would like to add this capability, if poosible to my station.
Thanks and 73's
Frank

The tones will have to be added to the transceiver, not the transverter. The tones modulate the transmitter similar to microphone audio.

AA4PB is right. You can't add anything to the transverter to do this, but you can add something to the FT-901DM.

An accessory like this will do it:
