hello progs,
as you ham operators all know, kantronics no longer offers any support whatsoever for their older products.
It is virtually impossible to obtain eproms for these nice devices as KPC3, KPC9612, KAMplus, KPC9612plus...
I have a lot of files available for free use as kantronics no longer is in business for this, but I am also looking for the following files to update my collection:
Available KPC3, KAM, KAM+ and KPC9612+ up to version 8.2
KPC9612 up to version 6.0
send me a mail if I can help you out with any of these.
looking myself for images of any higher version and desperately looking for KPC9612 version 8.2
all help appreciated
if necessary I want to buy eproms or complete units having any of the software mentioned.
Please help out lots of hams taken hostage by kantronics foolish policy....

Hello fellow ham's,
I got lot's of replies to this posting and apparently ham's all over the world are in a simular position taken hostage by the no-longer-upgrade policy of Kantronics.
Kantronics left us all alone in the dark with their vintage products, not counting on the huge international hamspirit.
All my Kantronics TNC's are back up to the highest possible firmware level that was available before they went out of production and Kantronics no longer supported them.
One big advice: Take this firmware policy into account before considering buying their products again.
NO SUPPORT - NO SALES !!!!
One advice to Kantronics: put old files that are no longer on sold on your website for download. Customers only benefit from this (and all collegue-firms follow this practise).

Wondering if someone has access to later firmware for the Kantronics KPC-2 TNC. The KPC-2 is still very useful to me. If someone does have firmware for this old TNC please drop me a line.....ve6szr@rac.ca (A binary file is preferred as I have access to an EPROM burner).

I'd like the KPC-3+ firmware file and the 9612 firmware file.
I have the KPC-3 (non-plus) firmware.
I'm trying to see if it's possible to read the kpc-3+ eeprom in circuit, and save the older version to disc.
The KPC-3+ has a serial EEPROM, and the schematic even shows a jumper for write protect.
If anyone else knows how, please share.
If I figure it out I will post how.

I'm looking for the KPC-9612 non-plus firmware as well if anyone has it, not sure what the latest update on this topic was :).
I'd be willing to trade what I can, I dont have much but a bunch of kantronics units i'd like to upgrade.
The 9612 is what i'm shooting for, but if anyone has firmware for, or needs firmware for a, i'd be willing to help if i can:
Original All Mode KAM
DR4-10
KPC-3
and KPC-2
